ABOUT THE ARTIST

Artist Jill Bradshaw

HISTORY

Native to the Chicago area, Jill's artwork began traveling the United States in her youth, earning 1st place in National Art competitions, while being showcased in New York City. At 17, Jill was awarded top place in multiple scholarship drawing competitions, including a scholarship to attend Parsons School of Design in New York City. Opting to stay in Chicago, Jill accepted an honored first place Full-scholarship to attend The American Academy of Art.  Studying Fine Art and Illustration, Jill began receiving international exposure in 1994, creating artwork for Maurice Lenell Cookies, Co., with her illustrations featured on their packaging sold worldwide. While attending art school, Jill worked as a Commercial Illustrator at Fisher Nuts, Inc.

In 1995, Jill became 'The Artist in Residence' for the world's largest private collection of automated musical antiques, European fairground art, and Victorian antiquities, at the Sanfilippo Victorian Palace, 'Place de la Musique', located in Barrington Hills, Illinois. The private museum holds a worldwide reputation for its magnificent collection, fine art, first-class restoration and historical preservation. Jill's fine art for the collection includes custom oil paintings, 23 karat gold  leaf gilding, and old world decorative painting of antique carved wood figures and facades. Her largest undertaking for the collection is the well known 'Eden Palais Carousel', the most complete European salon carousel in existence.

With a passion for history, and mastery of old world techniques, Jill's unique experience in historical fine art painting earned her the opportunity to work for famous collectors, such as the
magician David Copperfield. In 2001, Jill was honored by the city of Chicago, as she was invited to design the historic Heidelberg Building facade downtown Chicago at Randolph and State Street. Funded by The Art Institute of Chicago, the famous landmark was unveiled to the city by Mayor Daley. In 2010, Jill began the full artistic restoration of the 325 pipe 66 key Limonaire Orchestrophone band organ facade, who's music was featured in Martin Scorsese's 2012 Academy award-winning movie 'Hugo'.
